Lando Norris Dominates Singapore GP: Breaks Records, Closes In on Verstappen

Lando Norris clinched his third win of the season at the Singapore Grand Prix, finishing 20.945 seconds ahead of the competition. Norris’s flawless drive saw him lead from start to finish, skillfully managing his pace and avoiding significant errors despite close calls with the barriers. This victory narrows Max Verstappen’s championship lead to 52 points.

Max Verstappen maintained a steady second-place position throughout the race, steering clear of on-track conflicts to minimize the championship points loss. Meanwhile, Oscar Piastri delivered a stellar performance, battling through a challenging start to secure third place by overtaking both Mercedes drivers, confirming his reputation as the best driver over the last eight races.

McLaren’s strong performance extends to the constructors’ championship, where they now lead by 41 points. In contrast, Red Bull and Ferrari encountered difficulties, with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz underperforming and Sergio Pérez managing only a points finish. Presumably in his last race, Daniel Ricciardo set the fastest lap on the penultimate lap, earning the Driver of the Day accolade.

Franco Colapinto impressed on his debut by finishing 11th after a bold start. “Difficult to pass and driving very well,” remarked Pérez on Colapinto’s performance. This promising showing puts Colapinto as a strong contender for a Sauber seat in 2025.
