Mercedes Chief Shocking Revelation: Hamilton And Russell Suffered Borderline Heatstroke At Singapore GP!

Lewis Hamilton and George Russell experienced severe health issues during the Singapore Grand Prix, leaving them unable to attend their usual post-race media obligations. Team principal Toto Wolff described their condition as “borderline heatstroke,” noting, “They did not feel well…they have had water. They would not have been able to go to the (media) pen.” Both drivers received medical assistance and are confirmed to be recovering.

George Russell finished fourth in the race but felt underwhelmed despite overcoming initial difficulties. “After a very difficult Friday, we would have likely taken P4 in the Grand Prix,” Russell commented, while acknowledging the stiff competition and the struggles that have plagued the team since the summer break. He emphasized the need for technical improvements ahead of the Austin race.

Lewis Hamilton, who finished sixth, expressed his frustrations with the season’s ongoing challenges but remained optimistic about future races. “We don’t always get things right and that was the case today with our strategy. We all head into the weekend, and every decision we take, with the right intentions and sometimes it doesn’t work out,” Hamilton stated. He highlighted the team’s unity and commitment to resolving their performance issues.

Both drivers reiterated their focus on analyzing recent struggles and anticipated improvements with upcoming updates for the Austin race. Toto Wolff confirmed, “It is just that we had the doctors with them. But they are all good.”
