Red Bull Shaken: McLaren’s Lando Norris Dominates Singapore Grand Prix, Says Nico Rosberg

Lando Norris showcased a masterful performance at the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix, dominating from pole position to the checkered flag. Racing for McLaren, Norris’s victory not only secured valuable points but also sent shockwaves through the paddock, particularly toward Red Bull.

Nico Rosberg, analyzing for Sky Sports F1, emphasized the race’s broader implications, stating, “More than the win – it’s that performance and the speed today. That’s going to have Red Bull scared because with this speed to the end of the year it’s really realistic Lando can win all the races to the end of the year and for Max to come second is so difficult, it seems. The world championship is still on.”

Norris’s race began with a flawless start, quickly establishing a buffer with a 1.1-second lead by Lap 2. Despite minor front wing damage reported on Lap 33, he maintained his pace, underscoring his control and car performance. Post-race, Norris reflected, “The car was mega. I could push, we were flying the whole race, and at the end could just chill. So it was a nice race, still tough, I’m a bit out of breath, but a fun one.”

With this victory, McLaren now leads the Constructors’ Championship, and Norris has notably closed the points gap on Max Verstappen in the Drivers’ Standings. Jamie Chadwick praised the win, remarking, “A very important win. Very, very impressive drive.”

The final standings saw Max Verstappen finishing second and Oscar Piastri securing third. This exceptional race not only highlights Norris’s driving prowess but also sets the stage for a thrilling championship battle ahead.
